One-year Anniversary!

We recently celebrated our one-year anniversary in northern Michigan and had an excellent time!  We found some secret spots on the trip that we hope to frequent on future vacations.  This area was just voted one of the best vacation spots in the U.S.  Yeah Michigan!

James brought some of our wedding tattoos with him to my surprise!

Digging, digging, digging!

Of course, Washtenaw Dairy hooked us up with donuts for our anniversary!

Long lost shower photos...

Just realizing I hadn't posted pictures from my lovely shower last summer.  I had a great time with some of my closest friends and family.  Yahoo!

Married 8 Months!

How time flies while you're having fun!!

Here are some pics of our food and beverage from Cameron's Catering at the reception.  Unfortunately, Cameron's is no longer in business as the owners went on to new ventures.  We love them still the same for paying such fabulous attention to our special day!

We ♥ Oberon!

The first sign of spring for us here at Graustin is the tapping of Oberon by Bells.  This was the beer served at our wedding and was the first drink that James bought Laura when they met. Cheers to Oberon being available at some of our areas finest through spring and summer 2011!

Our ring pillow!

I just adored our ring pillow that was made for us by our dear friend Linnea.  I picked out the fabric and ribbon and she did the rest.  I was in tears when she first sent us a picture (she's living in Charlotte).  Linnea had just gotten a new sewing machine with all the bells and whistles and just whipped this little number up.  I think she should start selling these on etsy!!!

We hadn't planned on placing the "real" rings on the pillow, but still wanted our ring bearer to carry it down the aisle.  Problem was, we didn't practice, and on the day of the wedding our ring bearer decided he didn't want any part of the pillow.  See, our ring bearer was someone close to us, super cute, and full of attitude...his name is Gibson.  And, here is a great shot of him as all the ladies were getting ready at LaNa:

broken door compliments of Gibson!
We had sewed the pillow onto a special collor for Gibson to wear as he was walked by my brother-in-law/reverened.  But, Gibson had other plans and just wanted to roll over once the pillow was around his neck.  It was an immediate play toy!

Needless to say, we now have a great pillow that still brings a smile to my face.

Thank you Linnea!!
XOXOXOXOXO

he wore it, if only for a moment!

Donuts!

We had donuts from Washtenaw Dairy at our wedding instead of a traditional wedding cake - and loved them!  By the looks of how many were eaten (several people claiming they had more than 3!!), our guests loved them too!

We were married on the first football Saturday in Ann Arbor (gasp!)...
these were perfect to show our Michigan Wolverine spirit!
Gluten-free donuts made by Leslie were a hit!

Proof that Lo had more than one donut!

Partially hidden is the white heart cake topper that my parents used in 1969!

I got my inspiration to post our pics after reading a posting today on the donut trend at weddings on erin EVER after.  This is a trend I welcome to stick around!!
